Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a solicitor apprentice in the Homes & Money division of our legal team as we expand to support the Society's exciting programme of development and digital transformation. Reporting to the Head of Legal, Homes & Money, you will work with an experienced team of lawyers whilst studying for your solicitor qualification with the BPP University Law School to help deliver a trusted, valued and high-quality legal service to our Homes & Money businesses.

This is a wide-ranging opportunity to really feel part of our business and get involved in learning from an 'on the job' perspective but also from an academic perspective from your study towards solicitor qualification with BPP University Law School. You will be given training within the team to help the business deliver trusted, valued and high-quality legal advice to the business. You will:

  • Work closely with lawyers in our team to assist in progressing legal matters and transactions including development of financial services products within our Homes & Money businesses and extending to the wider Skipton group as appropriate.

  • Undertake legal research connected with issues related to our Homes & Money businesses.

  • Liaise with stakeholders within our Homes & Money businesses to deliver legal advice.

  • Assist in communicating legal concepts to technical and non-technical audiences within the Society using a variety of tools and approaches.

  • Meet targets and deadlines connected with the Level 7 Apprenticeship (Solicitor Apprentice) as directed by BPP University Law School and the Society including developing knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with the qualification requirement and passing the relevant tests, exams and qualifications.
