Senior Product Analyst - Digital Underwriting, You will be at the centre of experienced underwriters and insurance product experts and will harness their knowledge of traditional insurance products to distil and define the risk appetite, underwriting criteria, coverage offering, and appropriate risk limitations and exclusions for a digital version of the product/appetite that can be automated through a straight-through "no-touch" automated platform. You will coordinate with underwriters and business analysts to develop digital product elements into operable requirements and reference artifacts for technical teams. You will assist UWs with analysing results and recommend and implement approved adjustments to eligibility, market pricing, and capacity and accumulation control elements through the technical platform.,

  • Be a problem-solver who considers complex data from multiple sources in order to understand the drivers of our business results and influence the next steps of action. This role will use objective data to gain a deeper understanding of the behaviour of the digital portfolios, and work closely with business and technical teams to enable and deploy products to the market.

  • Work closely with product and underwriting leads driving complex analysis to develop actionable and innovative recommendations for achieving growth and profitability targets

  • Support the design and build of digital insurance products that add value, scale and efficiency to MRSI business units and clients

  • Proactively assess market risks and opportunities, evaluating multiple possible solutions, and leverage data-based insights to influence the decisions of executive leadership

  • Understand and report on the overall performance and strategy of product lines

  • Work cross-functionally with partners across the organization, including Corporate Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Legal, Claims, Risk Management and other knowledge experts to develop, design, and implement new and enhanced digital products

  • Assist in developing annual revenue and profitability plans, budgets and re-forecasts

    Bachelor's degree.


  • Excellent analytical experience and/or product experience in insurance or a similar industry

  • Advanced Insurance product, price, underwriting and regulation knowledge, with working knowledge of personal and commercial lines rate plans and product offerings

  • Knowledge of insurance and ability to read and interpret standard policy forms, laws and regulations

  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to translate complex concepts into simple, actionable recommendations

  • Strong research and analytical (quantitative and/or qualitative) skills with ability to perform analysis and identify solutions to issues

  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Proven history of taking initiative and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance

  • Ability to understand customer's key objectives and creative approach to designing innovative solutions

  • Experience in budget forecasting

  • Proficiency in data science and coding (SAS, Python, SQL, etc).

  • Strong data visualization skills.

  • This position is offered on a Permanent basis.

  • Annual salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
