Endless Opportunities: We offer a wide range of opportunities, including rotations across adult community services and the acute trust. We support trust rotations for Band 5 occupational therapists and physiotherapists and play a key role in developing unregistered staff to their fullest potential.,

  • To carry a variable clinical caseload of patients within the Acute Response and Rehabilitation in the Community and Hospital Service (ARCH) providing occupational therapy assessments addressing occupational therapy performance, skills deficits, self-maintenance and cognitive function.

  • To provide assessments and interventions which support an 'admission avoidance' or 'home first' approach enabling patients to receive care in their usual place of residence wherever possible

  • To provide rehabilitation and advice to patients either at home or in hospital/rehabilitation bed to enable them to achieve their optimum level of independence and quality of life

  • To work with clients, carers, relatives and colleagues to identify, plan, develop and implement OT patient goals as part of an overall care plan.

  • To plan and implement individual interventions, in collaboration with the client, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.

  • To work independently under the guidance of the senior staff within the team and actively participate in the professional development of self and others.

  • To seek and get support from the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead

  • To advise on, and prescribe, specialist, assistive equipment and adaptations for the home.

  • To take a responsible place in the multi-disciplinary team promoting the role of Occupational Therapy and taking an active part in team projects.
