  • , Wakefield or Warrington. For London based roles your contractual place of work will be Stratford. However, as that site will not be operational until early 2025 in the interim period you will be required to carry out your contractual duties from Vauxhall, or such other reasonable location, on a temporary basis. For the avoidance of doubt as your contractual place of work is Stratford, the move from any temporary place of work will not give rise to any entitlement to payments for travel time or costs under the Relocation and Excess Travel Policy., The Chief Data Office (CDO) is an integral part of the wider Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) directorate. Together we play a fundamental part in helping to shape the future of the NCA.

Successful candidates will help to ensure that these techniques stand up to scrutiny and comply with legislative standards., Our roles co-ordinate and deliver efficient information and data tasks that are required to take place across the agency to ensure information management compliance. Successful candidates will support our teams, helping us to manage the NCA corporate record and information holdings, whilst ensuring the agency can confidently identify, discharge and comply with its legal information management responsibilities.

  • Oversee the implementation of the Agency's Data Governance framework, including the effective management of information risk.

  • Oversee the reporting of information risks and issues; ensuring information is presented appropriately to key stakeholders for consideration and appropriate action.

  • Work across CDO to continue to develop how information risk is used to drive information assurance activities and its reporting.

  • Liaise and engage with colleagues from across CDO to help promote the effective management of Agency information.

  • Develop and implement tools for monitoring, reporting and improving compliance with Data Protection and other relevant legislation and policies.

  • Manage organisational change and effectively plan, implement and communicate changes with stakeholders.

  • Attend and lead cross organisational groups and engage with business representatives to ensure optimum service provision and best practice in relation to risk management.

  • Lead on building effective internal and external partner relations across law enforcement and government departments to understand and implement best practice across the Agency.

  • Oversee the work of the Information Risk and Governance Teams and promote high performance and adherence to corporate values., We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Knowledge and experience of directing an information risk function which includes risk analysis and the preparation of reporting/recommendations for senior management.

  • Practical experience of developing, implementing and delivering corporate information governance structures.

  • Experience of building effective working relationships with internal and external partners to the benefit of your work area and implementation activities.

  • Experience of educating, supporting and building the capability of staff ensuring EDI is part of the organisations way of working, fostering a culture of trust which enables people to speak up, feel safe and advocate for others., You will be asked to complete a CV as part of the application process.   • The NCA is a 24/7 organisation, and working patterns must support business requirements. Some roles may require you to respond at short notice or outside of core hours.

  • Individuals will be required to undertake and pass a substance misuse test as part of pre-employment checks.

  • Successful candidates may be required to undertake a medical. If required, the medical will take place in either London or Warrington. Unfortunately, travel costs will not be reimbursed.

You will remain on the reserve list for a max of 12 months.

  • This role is being advertised on a permanent basis.   • VETTING REQUIREMENTS SC

    All security clearances require you to provide evidence of your UK footprint where you have been physically present in the UK.
