Full Job Description

  • Simulation of mechanical interactions, ensuring all requirements are considered and to allow visualisation of motion paths and supporting the modelling of mechanical load cases (push/pull, head impact, vibration, NVH).

  • Designing interfaces to support and protect sensitive display panels in accordance with the guidelines from the supplier of the panel and design to meet NVH operational sound quality targets.

  • Integrate motors, sensors and other hardware to support the error-free deployment of displays and manage design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support engineering test teams with rectification of issues.

  • Support the planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support programmes and Cycle Plan studies, using our Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) in conjunction with Agile methodologies.

    In order to be considered for this position the successful candidate needs to have experience of designing to withstand (and subsequent simulation to validate) static and dynamic mechanical load cases for automotive applications and experience of simulating mechanical interactions for automotive electronics and mechanical hardware., Working knowledge of motor integration, fixing methods and complex dynamic mechanical systems and using simulation data to guide engineering judgements.

  • Experience of CATIA or other equivalent CAD packages.

  • Working knowledge of LS Dyna, Abaqus, Hypermesh or other relevant FEA suites.

  • Experience of designing motorised deployment mechanisms.

  • A practitioner of quality methods like, 8D, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis or Fault Tree Analysis.
