Full Job Description

To be responsible for delivering Health and Safety consultancy services to existing and new clients. The scope of services delivered by the role-holder are flexible, dependent upon the Client's requirements, but fall within the established H/S and wider Turner & Townsend business vision and objectives.

The challenges of the role are to empathise and understand various Clients (internal and external) and ensure consistent delivery of HSW solutions to meet their needs and expectations and to develop new opportunities in accordance with the Health and Safety business plan.

Understand and develop existing systems and processes to improve H/S efficiency.

Provide expert advice and act as Principal Designer and help client manage and understand their legal responsibilities, in accordance with CDM regulations.

Establishing positive relations with existing Clients to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate.

Representing Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner including meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with Clients in a timely manner.

Management of all commissions, where responsibility is assigned, to ensure both Client's expectations / scope of service and the requirements of Turner & Townsend's business management system are effectively discharged

Undertaking relevant and suitable audits, as per contract requirements.

Securing new opportunities for Health & Safety and the wider Turner & Townsend business

Efficient management of the region in accordance with the Turner & Townsend business financial management systems and set KPI

To liaise with ALL members of H/S Team as necessary to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing the quality and profitability of the department.

Compiling and creating relevant pre-construction information and relevant H&S files.

  • Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors desired, but expertise in the infrastructure sector and proven ability to meet Clients needs in that sector would be an advantage

  • Team and business management experience

  • Acting as a focal point as Principal Designer


  • Education and Professional Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate - Essential

  • Membership of APS - Essential

  • Full UK driving licence - Essential

  • Degree level education - Desired

  • NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent) - Desired

  • CMIOSH or equivalent - Desired
