Full Job Description

We are looking for the right Registered Manager to run our Solo Placement Children's Homes with a focus on the Peterborough area. We are looking for someone who has previously held an OFSTED registration and managed children's homes achieving good-outstanding on all OFSTED inspection reports and are able to evidence this.

We are looking for an individual who can come in and hit the ground running knowing exactly what they are doing when it comes to running children's homes, with having a firm but fair approach. The right person will be passionate about providing high quality care to our young people with a view of not giving up on them no matter what. You will also be passionate about your staff team, ensuring that you are developing them and training them to the highest of standard, nipping in the bud anything of concern and ensuring it is dealt with appropriately.

The ideal candidate will have experience of doing fit persons interviews and holding an OFSTED registration as well as being confident that they are able to run and eventually effectively manage multiple Placements Children's Homes. As the Registered Manager, you will be expected to provide outstanding care for our children and young people within our residential children's homes. You will be required to have knowledge and experience of: Children's Act, OFSTED regulations, Staff recruitment and management, compliance and safeguarding, Reg 44s and OFSTED inspections, Therapeutic practice. The ideal candidate will know how to engage in the referral and matching process, liaising with all parties involved., · You will be managing a Solo Placement Children's Home with 1x young person with a staff team of 6 members of staff with 2-1 staffing on per day. You will have the support of an experienced Responsible Individual. The home supports children and young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties using Therapeutic approaches such as PACE. The aim is for the young people to have a safe, caring and compassionate environment from all angles. Your role as the Registered Manager will be to lead from the front, setting excellent expectations for the staff and young people alike. There is an excellent opportunity for you to model this service around your own personality and practice methods.

Responsibilities of the Registered Manager:

· Managing solo EBD/complex residential Children's Home

· Engaging with children is going to be your key responsibility, setting examples and building excellent rapport

· Leading a team of skilled staff ensuring they are supported and trained to an excellent standard

· Providing emotional support

· Tasks including: OFSTED Registration, organisation around referrals and matching, staff management and training, liaising with social workers and family members of young people.

· Understanding and knowledge of safeguarding processes and policies

· Keeping a record of support and focusing on positive outcomes for the children you support

· Must have a caring and open-minded nature and be willing to work on call

· Understanding that this role is simply not 9-5

· Experience with EBD and ACEs

· Experience to meet in line with Ofsted requirements

· Ideally experience of fit-for-purpose interviews and holding a registration

· Hold or willing to work towards a Level 5 Health and Social Care Management and Leadership

· Ideally hold a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification
