Full Job Description

We are looking to offer a Regional Transport Manager the opportunity to join our expanding Transport Operations Compliance team based in Newton, Nottingham. You will work on our Energy Division Transmission Networks contact., As the Regional Transport Manager you will be responsible for implementing and managing Transport Operations in your area of responsibility. Including identifying any risks to the business, reporting to the Senior Regional Transport Manager in your area. As well as working closely with the wider Transport Operations Compliance Team to drive continual improvement., As the Regional Transport Manager, you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Ensure effective and continuous control is being maintained of M Group Services Operator Licence that you will be named as Transport Manager on.

  • Implement robust communications, effective management systems to ensure continues control of vehicles & drivers in line with undertakings, building & maintaining a good working relationship with your Line Manager & wider stakeholders

  • Ensure you provide support, advice & guidance on all aspects of Transport Operations, Occupational Road Risk & any Transport accreditations to Managers/Supervisors responsible for putting vehicles and drivers to work, ensuring compliance with Group Transport Operations Policy's.

  • Ensure commercial drivers' complete induction & compliance records are maintained in accordance with GTO Policies & available for audit.

  • Ensure all vehicles are on Key 2/MID, scheduled maintenance events are completed on agreed date/time and comply with DVSA's Guide to maintaining roadworthiness and all compliance paperwork is on the maintenance management system.

  • Ensure commercial drivers' check vehicles & report any defects found and data is analysed for non-compliance or trends and any training gaps are closed out accordingly.

  • Ensure HGV drivers complete their drivers' hours records, data is analysed for infringements or trends and any training gaps are closed out accordingly

  • Ensure vehicle telematics are fitted, monitored & data is analysed for Infringements to improve road safety

    National CPC Holder, with experience of managing a diverse fleet.

  • Strong background in managing complex issues and or requirements.

  • Capability to take ownership, responsibility, and be able to work as part of a team to deliver high standards and quality service to customers.

  • Can prioritise your workload, be able to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.

  • Must, as a minimum, hold a category B licence, be able to travel nationwide, staying overnight on occasions.

  • Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other digital platforms.

    The Transport Operations compliance team, which you will be part of and sits under the wider MGSPFS Fleet team. We have 24 employees in the compliance team, who are all field based. They provide Operator Licence Management and Transport Management support in all eight traffic area regions to MGroup Services business unit Operations.
