Product Design Manager

This role is pivotal in guiding our digital creation vertical, which includes flagship products like Helix Core, Helix IPLM, and Helix DAM. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic perspective to the design process, ensuring alignment with our business goals and delivering superior user experiences.
As Product Design Manager, you will mentor and develop your team, manage staffing and project assignments, and drive the evolution of our UX research practice. This role requires someone who can uplift the design capabilities of their team while managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships globally.
Responsibilities:

• Manage 6 direct reports and a total team of 8: 3 senior designers, 2 researchers, and an associate manager with 2 mid-level designers.


• Mentor team members to help them achieve their career goals and foster a collaborative, learning-focused team environment. Actively work to up-level the team's design skills and overall craft.


• Oversee the design direction for our digital creation vertical, ensuring design solutions meet both user needs and business objectives. Work with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align design with product initiatives.


• Manage staff allocations to ensure balanced workloads, appropriate project staffing, and alignment with team members' skills and career aspirations.


• Champion and nurture our growing UX research practice, evangelizing its value and integrating it strategically across the organization with product leaders. Ensure UX research findings are integrated into design practices and guide the team in leveraging research insights.


• Provide design expertise and hands-on support as needed to supplement team efforts and meet project demands.
  
  Minimum of 10 years in UX or product design, plus at least 2 years managing a design team.


• Strong digital product design background with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to enhance user experience for complex projects.


• A solid understanding of UI design principles, including a familiarity with design systems


• A solid understanding of UX research methods, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.


• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for the user experience at all levels of the organization.


• Strong skills in collaboration and building cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across siloes


• Ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders across the U.S., Europe, and India


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in designing for technical enterprise software is highly desirable.
