Full Job Description

This position needs someone with energy and passion to complement our existing development team, to contribute to our existing projects as well as work on strategic new projects. In this role you must have a desire to deliver high quality output within challenging timeline. The ability to hit the deck running and make valuable contributions quickly will be critical., Assessing initiatives that require platform changes, designs or new patterns and services. Building and optimising scalable infrastructure and DevOps processes to continue NewDay's growth. Work with AWS and Azure Security engineers to build security into the core of all deployments. Leading and executing projects end to end; identifying technical and program dependencies and assessing their potential impact and risks, ensuring that they have been satisfactorily analysed, tested, and managed.

Management experience leading technical teams that interface with non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated rigor in building out scalable systems and data infrastructure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - can communicate complex ideas to audiences from a wide variety of backgrounds and levels of technical expertise. A self-starter who can work autonomously, make sound independent decisions, while being able to efficiently manage time and multiple projects simultaneously. Prior SaaS working experience and an understanding of SaaS metrics and KPIs. Familiarity with AWS or similar computing environments and infrastructure. Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Terraform. Understanding of DevOps and enthusiastic about continuous integration and deployment methodologies, nonfunctional requirements and processes of high-quality software engineering. Strong knowledge of computer networks including cloud networks, corporate networks
(Firewalls, Proxies, and VPCs). AWS networks (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, Route 53, Auto scaling, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Network Firewall). Comfortable with containerization and containerized workflows. EKS/Kubernetes experience. Working knowledge of streaming platforms (Kafka, Confluent) and MPP database systems (Snowflake). Fluency in ETL processes, data ingestion & pipeline knowledge, schema registry, data catalogues, eventing, and streaming analytics. Experience with functional, data-flow programming in Python or a similar language. Working in Agile environments (mostly in Sprint teams). A strong and enthusiastic commitment to resolving customer problems in a high quality and timely manner., Experience in building and/or scaling up the Technology function of a financial services institution or fintech. Relevant industry-recognised certifications or qualifications. Snowflake experience. Kafka experience. NewRelic experience. Understanding of Data Vault design pattern.
