Part time - Day Chef at South Devon Railway

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic part-time Chef to join our team working 15 to 30 hours per week, preparing breakfast, lunches, fresh sandwiches & paninis, baking cakes & scones and much more besides. Usual hours are 8.30 am to 4 pm plus holiday cover as required.

Flexibility, positivity, team spirit essential for all these roles as is a willingness to work weekends.

The food offering is creative, serving quality dishes that showcase the best locally sourced ingredients. You will be able to work alongside other team members as well as on your own.

Working Hours vary seasonally.

You

Have experience working in a similar role.

Are able to prepare and cook a range of short order meals in a timely fashion.

Remain calm under pressure.

Are familiar with HACCP, temperature controls and record keeping.

Understand FIFO.

Can maintain a consistent performance and ensure workplace cleanliness is a top priority.

Have a can-do attitude and work as part of a team or on your own.

Can work weekends.

Have Food Hygiene Certification.

Have the right to live and work in the UK.,

  Birdie's Kitchen is an all-day licensed café based at the South Devon Steam Railway in


Buckfastleigh, offering a wide range of grab and go and seated food options in a wonderful setting catering for up to 100,000 visitors a year. During the season, we are principally a daytime operation open 7 days a week from 9 to 5 with occasional evening functions and other promotional activities including the Polar Express .
