Full Job Description


  • To carryout day to day plant and transfer station operations and assist the Site Chemists, Supervisors and Site Managers in the efficient and effective running of the treatment plant and transfer station, whilst ensuring that site remains clear and tidy.
  • Optimise the daily processing of incoming waste, to optimise utilisation.

  • Front line contact with Incoming Drivers organising the efficient and safe discharge/loading of tankers.

  • Ensuring that Site Rules, Procedures and Risk Assessments are followed to ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner that does not negatively impact the environment or human health, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.


    • General:


  • To provide site cover at all times taking a flexible approach to break times and providing reasonable out of hours cover when required.
  • To co-operate with site management in improving operating standards and adopt a fully flexible approach to all the site tasks on which training has been given.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards.

  • Carry out any special duties as requested by management.

  • Ensure all tasks are carried out safely wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment(PPE)

  • Follow Company Operating Procedures.

  • Ensure that PPE is clean and in good condition.

  • To assist and participate in all site safety activities and initiatives, inclusive of toolbox talks, risk assessments, safety audits, defect reporting, incident reporting and communications meetings., Operate equipment in line with permit, procedures and consent to discharge.

  • Manage the loading and offloading of both CSG vehicles and those belonging to third party customers.

  • Operate all pumps, valves and other equipment

  • Control tank stock levels

  • Transfer materials between tanks

  • Work alongside other site operators and processes

  • Cleaning of tanks & vessels

  • Control all processes to achieve maximum efficiency and optimum quality of oil recovered

  • Take appropriate action with respect to waste acceptance and rectifying any problems.

  • Cleaning of tanks & vessels; assist with the clearing of tank bottom sludge from storage tanks.

  • Ensure that site is kept clean and tidy with hoses stored correctly; any spillages cleaned immediately and site kept free of rubbish and obstructions.

  • To actively participate in the improvement of site housekeeping standards by dealing with issues within personal span of control immediately and reporting all other issues to site management.

  • Responsible for performing maintenance and safety checks on site tanker and ensuring that site tanker remains clean and tidy.

    Fork Lift Licence.

  • Experience working within a Waste Treatment Plant or Waste Transfer station.

  • Experience in dealing with hazardous waste is desirable but not essential.

  • Self-starter who can deliver to deadlines.

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.

  • Excellent organiser & communicator
