Opportunity…

We are recruiting for an Operations Procedures Lead, who will be responsible for building, leading, and setting the nuclear safety culture of the Procedures team. You will determine the operations procedures strategy and resources for the operational procedures team at Hinkley Point C through construction, commissioning and into commercial operations.

You will coordinate & drive the procedures team to deliver procedures to project milestones. They will work closely with the Pre-Ops Configuration Coordinator to ensure key elements of configuration are executed correctly and delivered on time. The Team lead sets the standards for the team as they implement DCs, OPEX and end-users' comments into procedures. The Team lead is responsible for ensuring a consistent approach for the review and approval process before implementing the changes into the documentation.,

  • Develop organisational capability within the Team - through driving operational focus, coordinating operational activities and maintaining sufficient resource.

  • Create and drive the team milestones to deliver the department business plan and the supporting plan.

  • Compliance with site licence and statutory requirements, Safety Rules and station and company procedures - through regular interfaces with the relevant departments and ensuring they are up to date with new revisions of procedures and policies, and industry best practice which shall then be pertinently filtered to the operational document team.

  • Managing internal and external communication with relevant stakeholders - through staying aligned with business strategies and providing a two way means of open communication with appropriate departments to ensure the correct prioritisation of work and operational focus for personnel and plant efficiency.

    Qualified to degree level in a technical/engineering field, or equivalent.

  • Extensive knowledge of technical aspects of nuclear and conventional plant, with detailed knowledge of the site licence conditions and legislation associated with the safe operation of the station.

  • Proven leadership skills and a strong influencer with exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of delivering results.

  • Management experience to a high level or equivalent.

  • Broad understanding of Operations, Maintenance, Work Management, Engineering, Environmental, Radiological Safety, Chemistry and Outage Management.

  • Consultation and negotiation skills to ensure effective working relationships are developed and maintained with stakeholders and Trade Union representatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly, confidently, and concisely.

  • Experience in power generation within operations, preferably experience as a Duly Authorised Person (DAP) (or equivalent) at a Nuclear Power Station.


  • You may also have any of the following:
  • Experience of commissioning processes

  • EPR experience in operations or commissioning

  • Worked in a project environment.
