Full Job Description

The successful candidate will lead quality provision across all of our play rooms and be part of an enthusiastic management team, striving to improve and further develop our nursery. The role includes some non-child contact time to develop and work towards all management skills and ensuring a high and continuous support and good retention of staff. The Quality Assurance role is supernumerary to a specific room, but is within the nursery ratio, working on the "shop floor" so that all the play rooms are monitored, assessed and continually improved. The role involves peer observations, quality control of resources and room layouts and continual personal development, to enable the training and enhancement of all staff.

We pride ourselves on having a stimulating and nurturing environment to develop learning through play, using the curiosity approach. You will need to jointly reflect on practice to inspire to improve the outcomes and opportunities for the children as well as be responsible for resourcing the rooms and supporting the professional development of the nursery team.

We have just been Ofsted inspected and have received two areas of Good and two areas of Outstanding, so we are looking to get the good to an Outstanding overall, within the next 5/6 year inspection period.

Key responsibilities:

· To be responsible for assessing and providing quality across the nursery, ensuring a high standard of care and promoting the children's learning and development.

· To supervise and support all practitioners on a daily basis, leading on planning and monitoring and reflecting on practice to form continuous improvements within the setting.

· To possess a thorough knowledge of the Early Years standards and effectively implement these requirements.

· To ensure the health and safety and well-being of all the children within our care and ensuring that statutory requirements and local policies and procedures are adhered to.

· To support all practitioners in their Key Peron role, planning, teaching, and supporting the learning and development of all children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

· To help lead the curriculum across the setting, working as part of the Management team

Work as part of the Management team, reporting to the setting Manager.

· At least a level 3 or above qualification in early years childcare. Preferably a degree, with EYPT/EYPS

· At least 3 years' experience in an early years childcare setting.

· A solid understanding and recent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

· The ability to plan, organise and implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of children in a child-led curriculum.

· Be enthusiastic, flexible and communicative, reliable and a team player.

· Excellent knowledge of Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding.,

  • Nursery: 3 years (preferred)

    We are an independent, private nursery and welcome around 155 children aged from birth to five years, from Monday to Friday 08.00-18.00, all year round., Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
