Full Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with at least 1 year's post graduate industry experience to join our team. You will be part of an onsite dynamic team working with specialist machinery in an exciting and highly technical environment. The successful candidate will work on various projects from the initial concept design through to final customer acceptance.

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Manager you will need to be collaborative, dedicated, creative and enthusiastic.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will need to:

  • Develop concept designs for rotating precision machinery in line with the overall project specifications.

  • Create 3D models including the confirmation of design through finite Element Analysis and other technical calculations.

  • Create BOMs in line with the project design requirements checking against the agreed design

  • Work with suppliers to ensure their manufacturing capabilities match the requirements of the design.

  • Ensure DFM and DFA considerations are made in the design of assemblies.

  • Support and problem-solve during manufacture, assembly, test

  • Work to budgets and project timings.

  • CE marking of equipment

  • Manage projects and work with customers as required

    1-2 years relevant industry experience required as a minimum., A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes

  • 1 year experience in industry as a Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Proficient in the use of Inventor preferred but not essential as training can be given

  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office products

  • Practical engineering experience not required but beneficial

  • Degree/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, What experience have you of creating 3D models including the confirmation of design through FEA and other technical calculations?

  • What experience have you of creating Bills of Materials in line with the project design requirements?

  • What experience have you got of 2D and 3D Modelling software (Inventor, AutoCAD)?

  • What experience have you of developing concept designs for rotating precision machinery?


  • Experience:
  • mechanical design (in industry): 2 years (required)

    Our machines are manufactured at our facility in Warmley, Bristol and are distributed worldwide, with our main markets being the UK, Europe, USA, China and Mexico.
