Full Job Description

As the Management Accountant for At Home Dental, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Director and the rest of the leadership team by providing high quality financial and other management information. Based in the company's new head office premises in High Wycombe, you will provide monthly management accounts (P&Ls actuals and forecasts vs budget, cash flow actuals and forecasts and other key pieces of information) as well as ad hoc pieces of analysis and projections, as well as supporting the Finance Director in building and enhancing the business's control environment by implementing and operating key controls such as quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

You will liaise with the organisation's external firm of accountants to ensure that annual returns are appropriately prepared, audited and filed on a timely basis, as well as with key internal stakeholders such as members of the wider management team and, in particular, the Chief Operating Officer and Operations Manager to ensure that all reports provided are adding value and driving the best operational outcomes.,

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts packs using data extracted from At Home Dental's finance system, Xero.

  • Implementation and operating of monthly financial controls including balance sheet reconciliations, bank statement reconciliations, and aged debtor reviews.

  • Preparation of ad hoc analysis and forecasts as required by management.

  • Proposing and implementing improvements to At Home Dental's financial processes, reports and systems.

  • Processing monthly journals as required by the business, e.g. allocation of payroll costs to appropriate cost centres.

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the business, ensuring that analysis of actuals against budget is accurate and insightful.

  • Documentation of key financial processes and policies as required by the business.

  • Work autonomously, coordinating your own diary and prioritising tasks and reporting to the Finance Director.

We are looking for a talented and motivated Management Accountant to join our team and help us expand our reach and build lasting relationships with care homes and private individuals. In addition to our current locations, we are looking to expand the service to other locations, with this position required to be flexible to travel across the southwest as required (although some remote working will be accommodated)., Either fully or part qualified in a leading chartered accounting qualification (ideally CIMA).

  • Must have experience of the Xero accounting platform.

  • Must have experience of working as a Management Accountant or similar role in a Finance team, ideally in a small/medium-sized business.

  • Must be prepared to travel if required to the organisation's other sites across the south west, and to work from the new High Wycombe office for the majority of their time.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and high levels of competence with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Some knowledge of the dentistry industry would be advantageous, but not essential., Do you hold a management accounting qualification, either fully or part-qualified? (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)

  • Are you prepared to work an average of 2.5 days per week from our High Wycombe head office? Remote working is fine for the other days.
