Full Job Description

DMAT deliver Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programmes and Domestic Abuse Awareness Programmes.

DMAT and Causeway are working in partnership to deliver an early intervention, low risk/low harm domestic abuse awareness program across the Merseyside region.
The Refocus Programme will introduce a holistic, early intervention pathway, which will provide both education and support for individuals who have displayed early signs of potentially abusive or coercive behaviours.

Our program "see the signs" is a program is designed for individuals who are displaying abusive behaviours, an essential course will look to identify and educate individuals about coercive control and abusive behaviour.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver domestic abuse awareness raising workshops with a co-facilitator to groups of approximately ten participants.

  • To use motivational interviewing when delivering workshops.

  • To ensure safeguarding and risk management is always considered when delivering workshops.

  • To ensure sessions are recorded, where required, for monitoring purposes.

  • To ensure that session planning, de-brief and evaluation is undertaken and recorded on Oasis.

  • To undertake practice supervision

  • To undertake ongoing training and development as and when required.

  • To liaise with external agencies as and when required and attend meetings/ report to other professionals.

    Essential -Experience of working with domestic abuse perpetrators/offenders and/or victims.

  • Essential - Experience of group work and motivational interviewing

  • Desirable - Experience of facilitating domestic abuse perpetrator/offender group work


  • Skills and Abilities
  • Well-developed communication skills and excellent IT skills

  • Good administrative and organisational skills.

  • Good planning and time management skills.

  • Group facilitation skills.

  • Ability to self-evaluate, work as part of a team, reflect and improve practice with service-users and learn from constructive feedback.


  • Driving licence preferred as travel will be required as part of this role.

    Education/Training/Qualifications
  • Essential - Good standard of Education, GCSE's or equivalent

  • Desirable - Relevant degree or professional qualification.
