Full Job Description

Ultra PCS are looking for a Line Side Logistics Manager to join to oversee all aspects of the Material Storage and Provision's function team providing support to the business covering material put away, inventory verification, storage, kit fulfilment, lineside inventory and material collection and enabling the function to deliver on time. To ensure the timely receipt of material from suppliers, maintain inventory verification and supply material to all associated Orders.

In this role you will manage our material stores and kitting function, ensuring that high standards of control are maintained and that all personnel within the team work to the required processes and Health and Safety practices.

You'll coach, mentor and develop the team and participate proactively as member of the Materials & Logistics Management team.

Functional Management

  • Ensure the fulfillment of kits in line with the business plan to support manufacturing or NPI.

  • Ensure accurate forecasting, resourcing and the availability of team skills to meet current and future commitments

  • Ensure team compliance with all Health and Safety Policies and active participation in maintaining high standards towards a safe working environment

  • Ensure compliance against all processes and work instructions and maintain high standards are maintained within the area

  • Involvement in our Sales & Operational Planning cycle collaborating with the Planning team on systems availability to manage any downtime

  • Support and where appropriate lead investigations into determining the root cause of issues under your control

  • Ensure a strong interface and working relationship exists with all teams across the business

  • Undertake the business regular Perpetual Inventory and stock validation checks

  • Ensure accurate and effective material control to minimise potential waste or stock write off

  • Support customer visits/meetings or investigations that relate to areas of your functional expertise

  • Ensure all data is managed and controlled to high standards

  • Make recommendations of value-add opportunities through material control, kit fulfilment & manufacturing

  • Encourage the adoption of lean principles across the function and manufacturing to eliminate waste and failures. Encourage a consistent working environment that is supportive of working to a recognised 5S standard

  • Contribute to the risk register for the function in line with the business approach

  • Define and implement policies and performance standards specific to the function

  • Support any external or internal audit to demonstrate our compliance to process and working practices

  • Actively engage with continuous improvement activities for both functional and wider business

  • Support the prompt resolution of any agreed non-conformance by thorough investigation and determination of root cause.

  • Monitor and report trends and changes making recommendations to the business on advanced working methods or processes

  • Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual

    Prior Experience of Managing Inventory Storage and Provision

  • Understanding of the requirements of AS9100 & ISO9001

  • Solid working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to multi-task

  • Experience of leading improvement activities and managing change

  • Strong communication skills
