Introduction

Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe Limited (BCASEL) is an EASA and UK CAA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on 737 NG/Max, 777 and 787 aircraft.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for Lead Aircraft Mechanics to join our organisation. Prospective candidates are required to demonstrate recent maintenance experience on 737 NG/Max, 777, 787 or similar type aircraft.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager - Production and is based at the London Gatwick Hangar facility working a rotational shift pattern. A degree of flexibility is expected including a requirement to work overtime if required.,

  • Support the Licensed Aircraft Engineer with all aspects of aircraft maintenance within their assigned aircraft or zone.

  • Plan and lead the work of Aircraft Mechanics.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs and functional tests on Airframe and Engine systems.

  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, task cards, engineering drawings and other specific technical documentation.

  • Review job cards to identify and request tooling, equipment, spares, consumables and materials required for completion of aircraft maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure all work assigned to Aircraft Mechanics is completed in a timely manner to optimise aircraft downtime.

  • Complete aircraft maintenance documentation and handovers to the required standard.

  • Ensure correct use and accuracy of the MRO user system for all maintenance activities.

  • Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other concerns to the Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

  • Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.

  • Adopt and promote the Boeing Safety, Quality and FOD culture.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures.

  • Promote a just culture and report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System.

  • Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.

  • Undertake any reasonable activities as required, including working away from London Gatwick.

    Have completed a recognised apprenticeship, formal training program or able to demonstrate comparable qualifications and experience.

  • Have extensive experience working in a Base Maintenance environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft types.

  • Proven leadership behaviors with an ability to work on own initiative and make timely decisions.

  • Excellent knowledge of company processes, procedures and working practices.

  • Good understanding of Health and Safety, Human Factors and Regulatory requirements.

  • Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.

  • Flexible worker who is prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in-house systems.

  • Meet the requirements to hold a London Gatwick Airport airside pass.
