Full Job Description

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

Under supervision and direction:

1. You will provide maintenance, installation and support services.

2. You will work as part of the Delta Academies Trust ICT support team.

3. You will work in line with best practice Standard Operating Procedures and ensure processes are followed at all times.

4. You will ensure that ICT facilities at all times are fully functional and secure.

Software

5. You will help install and test new software.

6. You will make software and data available to appropriate users.

7. You will ensure the anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all stations.

8. You will ensure software and operating system updates are installed as appropriate hardware.

9. You will check new computer equipment on arrival and install as appropriate.

10. You will ensure that the asset register is managed and maintained.

11. You will maintain and troubleshoot the schools VoIP phone system.

12. You will maintain computer peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, whiteboards, projectors; ensure that these are prepared and ready to be used.

13. You will trouble shoot and maintain all aspect of Trusts PC and server hardware.

14. You will liaise with external support agencies, to resolve faults speedily.

15. You will liaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance contract.

Network Management

16. You will liaise with core ICT and external suppliers regarding provision of user accounts.

17. You will carry out routine network maintenance tasks.

18. You will trouble shoot, maintain and upgrade the Trusts ICT infrastructure.

19. You will follow supplier's recommended procedures.

Other specific duties

20. Basic clerical duties related to the post.

21. Assist staff members with the use of ICT software and hardware.

General

22. You will be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, inclusion, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person without delay.

23. You will participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

24. You will ensure you carry out your role in a way that demands high standards whilst supporting inclusion and welcoming diverse thinking.

25. You will ensure strict confidentiality in all areas of work.

26. You will work and process personal and sensitive information in accordance with the Data.

Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR).

27. You will ensure work is conducted in a way that protects the safety and security of information (e.g., strong passwords, reporting breaches, securing paper records, securely disposing of records).

28. You will understand and comply with the statutory guidance regarding safeguarding of children, always ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of children's welfare, reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer at once.

29. You will always comply with the Trust's policies and procedures.

30. You will undertake other reasonable duties (with competence and experience) as requested, in accordance with the changing needs of the organisation.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure - physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.

  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.

  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.

  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.

  • Support the information systems needs for your business.

    Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Team working, GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade 4 or above) Essential
