Full Job Description

As part of the People Services Team your role will be to provide generalist HR Advice, advise on Process Improvement plans and provide Senior administrative support to the People Team and wider business. The role is varied and fast-paced and your responsibilities in this role includes, but are not limited to:

  • To advise, guide and support managers with all matters relating to employee relations

  • The HR Advisor will support the HR Team in delivering the ER Roadmap through effective up-skilling, building management capability and transition to manager self-service.

  • Supporting with disputes appropriately (mediation, COT 3; or tribunal claims) through legal advisors

  • Reviewing, developing and where appropriate implementing new HR Processes and Procedures in line with the agreed process improvement plans

  • Supporting the People Shared Services Team with escalated query management.

  • Take ownership for the development and maintenance of standard letter and contract templates used within the People Services Team.

  • Support the People Services Team with the personalisation of any required letters.

  • Processing employment contract changes

  • Processing leavers accurately

  • Assisting with accurate preparation of monthly payroll reports.

  • Providing 1st level HR advice to line managers

  • Set up eLearning for new starters


  • This role is not a standard HR Advisor position and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved with a variety of project workstreams and HR projects.

    Our People Services team are the customer facing representatives for the People Services department. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain strong relationships. You must also be proactive in your approach, and have first class analytical, prioritisation and organisational skills., It is essential that you have demonstrable HR Advisor experience, which includes
  • Experience of working within an Employee Relations environment

  • Knowledge of process review methodology

  • CIPD Level 5 accreditation desirable or working towards this.

  • Ability to analyse, interpret and deliver data and information in an accurate, fair and concise manner.

  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Experience in HR & Payroll systems / databases is desirable, not essential.

  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment

  • Clear communication skills both telephone and email

  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise.

  • Good literacy / numeracy skills

  • A proactive approach to work and problem solving, and the ability to spot and deal with issues as they arise. Confident with systems (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, HR Systems,) and tools to support the role.
