Housing Solution Officer

To provide a housing and homelessness advice service to members of the public and other agencies, to include:

· Participate in a rota for the provision of a frontline housing advice and assistance service to prevent, delay and relieve homelessness and to provide appropriate options within the framework of the Homelessness Reduction Act (2017) and Housing Act (1996 Part VII), or any successor legislation

• Carry a case load of applications made under the Homelessness Reduction Act (2017), and associated legislation, acting as case worker from application through to conclusion


Conduct face-to-face interviews, dealing with correspondence and making recommendations as appropriate to the Senior Housing Needs Officer.


• Experience of working within housing, Part VI & Part VII of the housing acts 2017., A working knowledge of homelessness and allocations, and other public sector housing legislation


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify client needs and devise appropriate solutions


• Demonstrable experience of providing customer-focused services in a challenging environment


• An ability to communicate complex issues sensitively to individuals and group


• Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet targets and deadlines


• Social Justice, and Equality


• A full driving license and access to transport as the post holder will be required to undertake visits across North Midlands


• Understanding of the importance of diversity and equality in the delivery of services.
