Full Job Description

Swansea Bay University Heath Board are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to join our new cancer prehabilitation service. This is an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian looking to develop their career and the successful candidate will help design and deliver the cancer prehabilitation service alongside the newly established multi professional team. This service will support people with a diagnosis of cancer to be optimised in preparation for their treatment, enabling better outcomes and improved experience. The post holder will have the opportunity to work with a project manager and value-based health care team.

The post is offered as an Annex 21 Position for applicants who do not hold the full qualifications will be considered for a trainee position and will be subject to NHS Wales Annex 21 as set out within the NHS Wales Terms & Conditions of Employment.

The post holder is required to lead, implement, and deliver the newly funded cancer prehabilitation service across the region. Skills required for this post include practical problem-solving skills, advanced clinical reasoning, advanced communication skills based on negotiation, counselling and behavioural change therapy, specialist clinical knowledge and skills, as well service development. The post holder will manage a defined caseload of clients with variable complexity of needs within this setting, using evidence based / client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. They will provide clinical leadership for junior and support staff, through supervision and appraisal as delegated by supervisor. The post holder will provide expert advice on professional/clinical standards and guidelines for the service and specialist caseload and to interpret national and professional policy for local implementation. They will lead on the production of evidence based
written materials and teaching resources as required and ensure their regular review. The post holder will be expected to travel between SBU Health Board geography as required to support service delivery.
