Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the compliance team to support the delivery of effective health, safety and environment compliance management systems across the Housing service, working with managers, staff and contractors to ensure that all operations are consistent with current legislation and approved codes of practice in both the short and long term. You'll also support the lead competent person in Housing for all SHEQ and compliance issues.

About the team:

Our Compliance team deliver key statutory services to ensure our Housing Stock is compliant & safe for our residents. We work closely with our residents, external contractors & other stakeholders to ensure health & safety is well managed. Environmental management is also key in our delivery programme. Working with the wider Housing Team the focus is on both new provision and substantial investment in our existing housing stock including a demanding target to retrofit properties and achieve a net zero carbon position.

With a higher level professional qualification in occupational health and safety; e.g. NEBOSH Diploma (or National General Certificate with proven equivalent expertise) & membership of one or more relevant professional bodies, or equivalent ; e.g. IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA, you will have a good knowledge of current health & safety legislation and its application within a housing asset management setting. You'll also need to have knowledge of CDM, fire, gas, electric and asbestos regulations. A professional auditing qualification; e.g. OHSAS 18001 would be advantageous.
