This is an exciting opportunity to join the Government Internal Audit Agency's multi-award-winning Counter Fraud and Investigation team. Since 2016, the team has delivered counter fraud services to over 120 separate Government Departments, Agencies and Arm's Length Bodies and offers an unparalleled opportunity to work collaboratively across Government to combat fraud and protect public funds.
About the Team
The team provides a high quality, independent specialist counter fraud service, aligned to the Government Counter Fraud Function, Profession and associated standards. To achieve this, our service offering includes civil and criminal investigations; support with fraud risk assessments; whistleblowing/speak up; Government GovS013 Functional Standard; and other tailored counter fraud support.
About the Job
The Head of Counter Fraud role is a critical leadership position, directly reporting to the Deputy Director. This role is paramount in ensuring effective performance and delivery of comprehensive counter fraud services to over 120 customers throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of counter fraud activities, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with, and aligned to quality, timing, and budgetary plans. A significant aspect of this role involves managing income streams effectively to support GIAA's status as a self-funded Agency.
This position is crucial not only in the operational delivery of Counter Fraud services but also in driving business growth and fostering the advancement of the Government Counter Fraud Profession.

The successful applicant must either hold or be in the process of obtaining an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist (ACFS) or Accredited Counter Fraud Manager (ACFM) qualification, or equivalent. Hybrid Working is available to GIAA colleagues. This means a combination of office working and working from home. This includes time spent in our GIAA office locations and can also include any time spent attending our customers' sites.
GIAA colleagues are expected to work in an office location for three days a week on average (60%). Naturally, this expectation will be applied on a pro-rata basis for people who have a part-time or compressed hours working pattern.
