Full Job Description

Hesley Group are looking to appoint a Group Management Accountant who will work closely with the Financial Controller to deliver accurate, insightful and timely financial information to various stakeholders including the Board of Directors, operations managers and department heads. The role involves partnering with these stakeholders to help them understand the numbers, and their impact on the wider group.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Preparation of necessary journals, with supporting calculations, to ensure accuracy of monthly accounts.

  • Production of draft management accounts in accordance with monthly timetables

  • Review and ownership of relevant nominal ledger reconciliations

  • Review accounts against budget/forecast, explaining variances

  • Driving process improvement and audit of internal systems and procedures

  • Support with the preparation of annual budgets as well as the year-end accounts preparation and audit processes and any due diligence processes

  • Develop and maintain the group Fixed Asset Register and associated Capex Reporting

    To be successful in this role you will need to have successful finance experience at senior management level and have worked in a regulated environment previously. You will need to have a process driven and methodical approach to problem solving. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to maintain a professional and confidential approach to the work that you do. You will have excellent organisational skills and can successfully work to clear deadlines.

  • It is advantageous that you are a qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification, i.e. Chartered Accountant, Certified General Accountant or Certificaed Management Accountant, however we will consider applicants who are part qualified or qualified by experience.
