Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join our team at our Welwyn Hatfield depot. The main purpose will be:

  • To lead and take accountability for the Grounds Maintenance and associated services for the Welwyn Hatfield Contract

  • To supervise and operationally participate in the delivery of works and lead all operatives within section. To be accountable for the effective delivery of services.

  • To ensure the requirements of the contract specifications and standards are met by supporting the management team and to follow all operational requirements, company procedures, health and safety requirements and legal obligations.

  • To ensure relationships are established and maintained with clients whilst encouraging team building and promotion of harmonious wo rking environment.

    The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria and have a commitment to the highest ethical standards and Continental behaviours and values, together with excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to the on going success of the business, specifically the Additional Works section., Minimum of 3 years' experience with the grounds maintenance sector

  • Previous experience of working with local authority clients is an advantage

  • Experience of working to high standards

  • Experience of handling difficult and potential confrontational situations

  • Ability to organise and plan workloads

  • Financial experience including the preparation of detailed and fully costed quotations and estimates


  • Knowledge
  • Good understanding of leading individuals, teams and contract performance

  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, Regulations and Safe Working Practices

  • Understanding of contract and client standards

  • Understanding of financial principles and practical applications, Full UK Driving License

  • RHS 1/2 (desirable not essential )

  • NPTC PA1 PA6 (desirable not essential)

  • NEBOSH / IOSH qualification (desirable not essential)

  • Chainsaw licence(desirable not essential)

  • Chapter 8, Part 1 road works (desirable not essential)
