Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious engineer that is looking to take the next step in their career and transition into a full-stack and code owner role. Your role will grant you unprecedented freedom to design and implement solutions the way you see fit, and is a great opportunity to 'step up' into an architecture and engineering role.

We're looking for someone to drive the development of our consolidated suite of testing tools for web and native apps. Someone with the drive and ability to take a loosely defined set of requirements, perform the necessary research and discovery work to find the appropriate tools to enable this vision, and produce excellent working artifacts. Your role will see you building out this suite of tools, as well as coordinating our E2E testing initiative and providing mentoring to our talented team of automation engineers.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Act as code owner for Brands Automation, ensuring that high standards are maintained for all merging
  • Make high-level architectural decisions, taking ownership of our initiative to enable our vision for a modular, centralised hub for automation testing within the Brands Team.

  • Have a key role in future development in this platform, making suggestions for new features that could enhance its utility.

  • Implement change requests for features requested by QA management or suggested by our automation engineers.

  • Serve as a mentor to our team, with a view to expand their skills and broaden their understanding of web development in general. We want to expand their skill set in such a way so that not only can they contribute in ways beyond the scope of their role, but also provide them with a set of skills which will benefit them in the future.

2-3+ years of industry experience as a JavaScript engineer. There is no specific requirement based on domain (front-end, back-end etc.), rather a willingness to expand your knowledge and broaden your skills outside of said domain.

  • Understanding of relational databases: how to set up a database driver via Node and interact with this layer using Structured Query Language (MySQL, Postgres etc.).

  • Experience with TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with Docker: An understanding of containerization and some hands-on experience of writing dockerfiles.

  • Hands-on experience writing unit tests (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, React Testing Library etc.) and understanding of methodologies such as BDD.

  • NICE TO HAVES
  • Some familiarity with Node: RESTful APIs, Layered Architecture (Commercial experience not required, but desirable).

  • Some familiarity with Kubernetes and helm charts., Would you be a good fit for the Leo Pride - give us a roar!

  • As our company working language is English, we'd like to see your CV in English, please
