Full Job Description

  • Ensure league presence on FA Competition Portal, completing FA requests and league business in full and within deadlines.


  • Ensure league is sanctioned, compliant and league rules are up-to-date.


  • Ensure the league divisions and competitions are uploaded to FA Competition Portal.


  • Ensure that unplayed fixtures are signposted appropriately through existing JPL discipline processes.


  • Work with JPL team and website developer, to suggest improvements to the registration and online fixture system to meet


  • the needs of the league.

    4. League Communication.

  • Ensure appropriate consultation, enhance relationships and collaborate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.


  • Contribute towards daily huddles, monthly team meetings, and steering group meetings across the JPL Football Development Team.


  • Ensure all JPL contact lists and communication tools are checked and (where necessary) updated weekly.


  • At the request of league management, communicate league messages to clubs.


  • Signpost all club, partner and external communication to the appropriate JPL Colleague(s).


  • Collaborate with the appropriate JPL colleague to resolve issues and identify solutions.


  • 5. General

  • Complete tasks allocated by management in full and on time.


  • Support management and colleagues to deliver the annual RTC Football Development conference, JPL Football finals, and other National events.


  • Support work across wider areas of league development and JPL business strategy including any other duties that may reasonably be requested by JPL management.


  • Have responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others and comply at all times with the requirements of the JPL Health and Safety Policy.

    Understanding of football structures and pathways


  • Knowledge of sports governance procedures


  • Knowledge of competition mapping and fixture scheduling


  • Ability to use online competition / fixture platforms


  • Ability to work strategically with partners to plan and deliver football programmes


  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the league management team


  • Project management skills and experience - to plan, set and achieve objectives within strict deadlines


  • Excellent IT skills and ability to carry out administrative duties


  • Excellent communication skills using traditional, modern and emerging media


  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation of programmes, and report writing


  • A pro-active approach to collecting feedback and data in order to assist in the development of a programme


  • A flexible approach to duties and work, be comfortable working independently from home, and unsociable hours, A-Level or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

    The Junior Premier League is the largest elite youth football development league in England which includes both boys and girl's football. We are seeking to expand our team and require a dynamic, skilled League Fixtures Secretary who ideally has knowledge and a passion for football, both youth and adult.

    Job Overview:

    1. Ensure the Junior Premier League boys/mixed U12-U18 fixtures are scheduled and completed.

  • Lead and collaborate with colleagues on competition mapping, planning and draws.


  • Plan and schedule U12 - U18 league and cup fixtures well in advance of the next relevant stage.


  • Using tools available, collaborate with colleagues to ensure teams have games most weeks.


  • Using tools available, reschedule due to priority games as per FA rules e.g. County cup.


  • Collaborate with Compliance FDO to record, reschedule or determine outcome of unplayed games.


  • Monitor, evaluate and report the delivery and completion status of the leagues to league management every 2 weeks.


  • Be the key contact for all member club U12-U18 boys / mixed fixture enquiries.


  • Support the planning, delivery and review of JPL events, including JPL finals each season.


  • 2. Support colleagues to ensure Foundation Phase and JPL Warriors Junior Premier League fixtures are scheduled and completed.

  • Support the Foundation Phase FDO to plan and schedule the U11 'chunked' games programme.


  • Support the Foundation Phase FDO with the roll-out of the CVF games programme.


  • Support the JPL Girls FDO with the roll-out of the Warriors games programme.


  • Support the JPL Girls FDO with the roll-out of the PGA games programme
