Full Job Description

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the finance team, providing support for Feed the Hungry's local and international projects.. Tasks include entry into the charity's accounting software (Xero), assisting in preparing accounting reports, processing supplier payments and staff expenses through the designated systems, and ensuring proper authorisation. They will also be responsible for invoicing event-related activities, credit control, and administering payroll.,

  • To support the Head of Finance, HR, and Administration for the day-to-day administration of financial accounting.

  • Administration of the charity's accounting software package (Xero) ensuring all required data is entered accurately and on time.

  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounting reports from the Xero software.

  • Forwarding and processing supplier payments and staff expenses through the Hubdoc / Xero system and alerting Directors for approval.

  • Monitoring and responding to the 'accounts' email address in conjunction with the Head of Finance to ensure this has full weekly coverage.

  • Invoicing of regular customers, Corporate partnerships, and Halo Centre events as required. credit control.

  • Collaborate with HR to administer the monthly payroll software and associated finance reporting.

  • Deputise for the Head of Finance during times of absence.

  • Any other duties may be required from time to time to fulfill the accounts function within Feed the Hungry.

    R - AAT Level 2 or above (or equivalent), D - A minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role is preferred.

  • D - Experience working/volunteering within a charity.

  • E - Experience with accounting software packages e.g. Xero

  • D - Previous experience in administering payrolls.

  • E - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • E - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • E - Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with others.

  • E - Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines., A willingness to uphold the values and vision of Feed the Hungry.

  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in financial dealings.

    Feed the Hungry UK is an international charity supporting projects across the world and in the UK. We have feeding projects in several countries including Kenya, Zimbabwe and Zambia and provide regular support and emergency relief when needed. Our local support includes Coventry Foodbank with its fifteen venues and Community Pantries in Warwickshire.

    Salary: Commensurate with experience

    Contract: Permanent

    Holidays 25 days (full time contracts) per annum + statutory bank holidays.

    Hours: Part Time - 15 hours (with the opportunity for increase)
