Full Job Description

The Group Finance team work on a range of projects as well as statutory reporting and control. The team is charged with ensuring the Group meets the financial reporting and control obligations of a global regulated group. The role will include working closely with the Risk Department and Internal Audit on financial controls and assisting in local financial requirements for overseas subsidiaries., The purpose of this role is to be a key member of the Group Finance team and ensure the integrity of the Group and its subsidiaries financial information through an effective controls system. The role would cover and support all aspects of finance that falls under Group Finance.

Role Responsibilities

The major deliverables of the role are:

  • Managing the month-end process to Group reporting deadlines;

  • Review and assess key risks and controls within the financial reporting cycle;

  • Involvement in developing and enhancing existing processes;

  • Ensure effective execution of key control procedures across group finance;

  • Review and challenge of global finance department balance sheet reconciliations;

  • Preparation of controls MI and reporting information for senior management and the ACC;

  • Manage audit process and ad-hoc enquiries from external auditors;

  • Integration of new acquisitions into the group control environment;

  • Monitor and drive control remediation plans; and

  • Design and implementation of a world class control environment

    Big 4 audit background is preferred but not essential

  • Working in a large Group / Public company environment

  • Understanding of financial controls within a SOX compliance environment

  • A track record of improving processes and adding value to stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, organisation and documentation skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and large ERP system (PeopleSoft), Strong analytical skill - You demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment in a highly regulated environment

  • Functional expertise - Enjoy keeping up-to-date with emerging business, economic, and market trends

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting controls - You demonstrate strong technical knowledge of key reporting processes and related controls, pay attention to detail, take initiative to broaden your knowledge and resolve issues
