Full Job Description

This role will be part of the Business Management team within our Property & Facilities (P&F) function, which is in the P&F Business Management arm of International Operations. International Operations comprises all of the support functions across the firm including Finance, IT, HR, Governance & Compliance, Pricing and Property & Facilities. This this a newly-created role designed to bring enhanced financial oversight and controls to the finance functions within the P&F team, reporting into the Senior Business Manager. They key duties will include:

  • Preparation of monthly reports to track spend by office and department, ensuring teams are within budgets

  • Preparation of month end packs and reports

  • Management of all financial processes related to forecasting (cash and P&L), budgets, capital spend and accruals - reviewing and optimising current processes

  • Manage processes related to the raising and tracking of purchase orders and monitoring of related invoices

  • Manage an out-sourced Treasury team, responsible for lease-related payments (e.g. invoices, services charges, utilities) and lease-related receivables (e.g. payments from our subtenants) to ensure that we are compliant with our lease and contract terms and that we recovering income due

  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the balance sheet position is reflected correctly

  • Data analysis to optimise spend and present ideas for improvements

  • Develop of a consistent financial model for assessing premises strategies and business cases

  • Work with the P&F team and other stakeholders to build a 5-year cashflow and P&L plan, based on planned strategies

  • Develop trends and projections for department spends

  • Support in producing medium and long-term business plans

  • Participation in monthly finance meetings, providing guidance to P&F on monthly performance

  • Line manage a small team with the support from the Senior Business Manager

  • Assist in other ad hoc tasks

  • Support the Senior Facilities Manager on the spend of International Offices

  • Strengthen current internal control and process improvement

    The ideal candidate will have significant experience working within a finance department for an international business. Experience in a property function and knowledge of real estate accounting practices (e.g. IFRS-16) is advantageous.

  • Related finance qualification e.g.AAT/CIMA/ ACCA or other

  • Computer literate with advanced knowledge of Excel and add-ons (e.g. XL Cubed). Experience with PowerBi and Smartsheet is an advantage

  • Experience of working with management information systems

  • Demonstrable experience of reviewing and implementing new financial processes

  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
