Full Job Description

SLR have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and ambitious Finance Manager to lead a small team and improve our financial reporting processes. Hybrid working is available, and the role could be based in London, Bristol or any of SLR's other southern UK offices.

Reporting to the Financial Controller for Europe, you will oversee a Management Accountant and two Assistant Accountants who are responsible for the transactional activity and some accounting to support the monthly accounts process. The finance team is very outward looking into the wider business and the job holder will have significant interaction with the operations teams., In summary, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing the monthly management accounts for the SLR Consulting business

  • Producing and overseeing a range of reporting including monthly management reporting and cash flow forecasting, along with ensuring all balance sheets are reconciled monthly

  • Supporting FC with the year end audit and any other external reviews

  • Preparing the statutory accounts for the SLR Consulting Limited entity

  • Preparing periodic and ad-hoc reports both from the finance system and on Excel. These will support business requirements and finance checks to ensure data is up to date and accurate. This is expected to evolve into more focused analysis to ensure team spends and specific cost areas are well controlled and in line with budget

  • Direct line management of a management accountant and an assistant accountant to ensure all transactions are correctly processed. Supporting them to gain additional experience and career development

  • Supporting the accounting of acquired businesses when they integrate into the SLR Consulting business

  • Working with other FMs to provide support and consistency across the European region

  • Driving a culture of automation, efficiency and value add across the Finance department

    We are looking for and experienced Finance Manager, or team lead looking for your next career step with a fast-growing and energetic company, as well as, Qualified accountant with technical understanding of double entry bookkeeping, accounts preparation and typical month end process
