Full Job Description

We're looking for a Finance Manager to support the COO and CEO, and (when appointed) CFO, keeping our company ticking over and financially stable for the coming years.

Responsibilities will include:

1.- Financial Planning and Analysis:

Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Company goals.

Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

2.- Management Reporting:

Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to UK management, and to our parent company in Spain, providing insights into key performance metrics.

Collaborate with Section Heads to understand their financial needs and support decision-making.

3.- Financial Operations:

Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts transactions and payroll.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Support the COO with VISA processes and Company's certificate of sponsorship.

Work with the finance assistant to maintain accurate records of project and company spend and payment due dates.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and implement audit recommendations.

4.- Accounts submission

Work with our accountants to deliver our Annual Accounts, VAT submissions and R&D Claims

5.- Cashflow Management:

Manage cashflow to ensure liquidity and support ongoing business activities.

Following company strategy, convert between euros and sterling to ensure funds are available at the best rate.

6.- Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement streamlined financial procedures.

Stay updated on industry best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

7.- Supporting the UK management team:

On a monthly basis support project management meeting to ensure spend is forecast and accurately reported across all activities.

Where appropriate (or until appointed) support the CFO in duties such as financial aspect of bids, operative costs development, etc.

We're open to any candidate who has a willingness to work as part of a team and good people skills. In addition to that you need to have, o Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent work experience, such as 5 years of experience in financial management.

o Solid understanding of financial principles, regulations, and reporting.

o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

o Fluent in English and right to work in the UK.

o Proficient in financial software and MS Excel.

Desirable requirements:

o Knowledge of Spanish.

o Experience in space sector or other technology sector

o Experience of working with international partners.,

  • Diploma of Higher Education (preferred), Financial management: 3 years (preferred)
