Full Job Description

Cardiff Students' Union (CSU) is at the heart of Cardiff student life. Spanning both the Cathays and Heath Park campuses at Cardiff University, the purpose-built SU building operates 24-hours a day and houses cafes, shops, bars, music venues, a letting agency and study spaces for students to make the most of their time at university. All profits from our commercial activity go to support bigger and better services and activities for our students., CSU are looking for a full-time Finance Coordinator (job share considered). You will be part of a friendly team where we strive to support all financial aspects of the organisation for both staff and students.

As a Finance Coordinator you will play a crucial role in supporting student sports clubs, societies and other groups with the help and information they need to manage their group's financial affairs. This will include handling statement queries and requests for payments and refunds, dealing with sponsorships and offering training and guidance to committee members, amongst other more general financial activities. This is an office-based role and includes engaging with students and staff in person.

The position reports to the Director of Finance and works closely with other departments within the organisation.

You will need to be committed to providing an excellent standard of customer service and display the high level of communication skills that this requires. You will also be applying the same standards to dealing with queries from internal departments. You will be recording and reconciling financial transactions in the accounting system, often through Microsoft Excel and will need to show a high degree of accuracy in maintaining the correct records.
