Full Job Description

Chameleon Technology is seeking an Electronics Technician to work as key member of Chameleon's highly regarded and expanding engineering team, which is based in our offices in Harrogate.

You will assist the Engineers and Project Managers on a variety of tasks such as:

  • Performing prototype builds, modifications, and tests.

  • Perform firmware updates to products where required.

  • Perform tests and fault-finding on electronic assemblies.

  • Be involved in third party testing, e.g. support compliance testing at third party test houses.

  • Preparation of sample units for customers.


  • As an Electronics Technician you will be involved in all stages of the production, design and manufacture lifecycle where you will be able to grow and expand your current experience. Chameleon manufacturers a range of smart energy products, and you'll be responsible for designing and supporting future new products into mass production.

    This position is ideal for a candidate looking for an entry-level role with the space and potential for growth. We're looking for candidates who have recently graduated college with a Level 3(A-Level) to 5(HNC) qualification in a relevant field, who is seeking a hands-on approach to learning skills. We would encourage and support further education with this position.

    A candidate with an enthusiasm for electronics and demonstrable self-motivation is preferred.

    The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
  • Ability to read an electronic schematic (circuit diagram).

  • Soldering and assembly skills.

  • Basic usage of electronic test equipment, e.g. PSUs, DVMs, Oscilloscopes.

  • Experience of Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel etc.


  • Our office is based in Central House, Harrogate, with excellent on-site facilities - including a gym, café, nursery and more.
