Data Protection Officer

Are you an experienced full time data protection officer or information management specialist, would you like to be part of our friendly and supportive leadership team in the governance and compliance department, if so, we would really like to hear from you.

You will work closely with the department's leadership team colleagues, who are the information security officer, information disclosure manager, and the records manager.

This role plays a crucial role in safeguarding data privacy within our organisation. You will be responsible for educating employees about data compliance, ensuring sufficient Information Management training packages are completed, additionally, you will provide advice to project managers and information asset owners on privacy risks associated with new technology and any processing involving DPIAs.

You will also be responsible for the provision of strategic advice, planning, and compliance with all aspects of the Data Protection Act 2018, UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and associated legislation and guidance.

You will provide leadership, governance and independent oversight of all matters relating to DPA 2018 and UK GDPR with responsibility for advising the data controller (Chief Constable), Senior Information Risk Owner and the Constabulary's Information Governance Board on all matters of data protection.

Pay: £43,098.00-£45,546.00 per year
