Position: Sort Controller
Contract Type: Permanent - 40 hours per week / Monday to Friday
Location: Ryton on Dunsmore
Shift: Nights

Salary: £30,399.00

About the role:

As Sort Controller, you are responsible for establishing and executing the procedures necessary to manage the movement of shipments and cargo within, into and out of the Hub facility and automated sort systems. The post holder plays an integral role in ensuring that the entire end to end process meets both internal and external customer requirements and are completed in an organised, efficient, and safe manner.

The Sort Controller will be required to ensure 100% of planned connectivity to all destinations and services within the network, this will be achieved through analysing volume flows, shipment routings and country/regional operational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong planning and organisational skills

  • The ability to make decisions within the given framework

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • A positive attitude

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communications skill.

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)

  • Technical aptitude

  • Good airfreight and Customs knowledge is advantageous

  • Sort process knowledge is advantageous

  • Sound knowledge of DHL network and Operational activities

  • Ability to work on their own initiative

  • Methodical and analytical

  • A relevant qualification in IOSH and Health & Safety compliance
