Full Job Description

As the Continuous Improvement Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of JMPS and embedding continuous improvement across PGMS Royston. The main purpose of the role is to ensure value is maximised throughout the organisation through the elimination of waste. The job holder will be expected to lead departments through a combination of coaching and facilitating, implementing and sustaining improvement. The CI Engineer will be involved in all levels of activity from foundation Lean tools, to more complex CI projects. There will also be a strong emphasis on management of data including capture, analysis & visualisation.

Your responsibilities:

  • To ensure that the safety and well-being of yourself and your colleagues and the constraints of our Regulatory permits and licences are given priority over all else in your area of contribution

  • Working both alone and with leadership support, identifying, facilitating, and project managing continuous improvement projects throughout the business

  • To support and develop production systems, both digital and physical

  • Implement data analysis and visualisation tools including Tableau & PowerBI

  • Deliver coaching on data management strategies and foundation lean tools to all levels of the organisation to create a culture of continuous improvement meeting our Operational Excellence requirements

  • Analyse production data to identify opportunity within the organisation

    Continuous Improvement activity experience within workplace environment

  • A degree in Manufacturing Systems, Engineering, Science or similar or relevant experience

  • Experience of using a problem-solving process using proven root cause analysis would be an advantage

  • Experience or education in IT systems commonly used in Operations and Management environments would be advantageous

  • Experience of deploying improvement projects and managing the process through to completion
