Full Job Description

To support the continuous improvement of health and wellbeing within our community, it is essential that all residents living within the county have access to local health services and knowledge of support services that can improve income, support fitness, and tackle social isolation.

Working in partnership with a local organisation, Age UK Northumberland will provide community transport and signposting services to ensure that our local community has access to support and advice available to them.

Duties and tasks will include driving members of the community to appointments, chatting and providing information and advice about local support services that can improve health and wellbeing. This role will involve using an Age UK Northumberland car.

JOB SPECIFICATION
30 hours per week or job share

  • To deliver a high-quality customer service to clients eligible for the community transport service.


  • To plan travel times and equipment needed for customers to travel safely and with ease.


  • To ensure all appropriate checks are completed when collecting and returning any Age UK

  • Northumberland equipment.

  • To ensure that all vehicle checks are completed when collecting and returning company cars.


  • to complete all relevant paperwork for vehicles and admin.


  • To ensure you follow highway code and speed limits.


  • To ensure cars are returned clean and tidy state.


  • To ensure that any faults with vehicles are reported straight away.


  • To provide information and advice to clients about the range of services provided by Age UK Northumberland, our Charitable Services, and the way that clients can access support.


  • To protect the confidentiality of customers and Age UK Northumberland.


  • To at all times present a professional and caring image of Age UK Northumberland and demonstrate behaviors reflective of Age UK Northumberland values.


  • To complete training relevant to the role - health and safety, moving and handling, first aid.


  • To complete any other duties that may be necessary to comply with the demands of the business.


  • Any other duties as delegated by line managers.


  • An advanced driver qualification would be advantageous
