Full Job Description

To support the delivery of the Family Hubs project and Public Health wellbeing initiatives the Parent Support Team are looking to recruit experienced facilitators who can deliver high quality wellbeing activities for parents-to-be and new parents/carers and families across Sandwell.

These sessions will enhance the current offer and form part of the wider Changes Activities programme and Changes Programmes for Parents/Carers.

We are seeking facilitators who can naturally create a warm, welcoming, safe and enjoyable atmosphere for attendees and provide peer-support and signposting as appropriate.

Examples of activities that may be delivered as part of the Changes Activity Programme include buggy walks, group exercise sessions, baby massage, baby development & movement to music sessions.

The successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Plan, organise and deliver scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; monitor, adapt and maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.

  • Ensure high-quality and appropriate materials and resources are prepared and available for all sessions (for example music, equipment, handouts etc) Complete registers and maintain accurate records of attendance.

  • Ensuring the satisfactory completion of all course documentation (pre and post course evaluations and WEMWBs), administration and record keeping in line with the service's quality assurance protocols.

  • Report customer feedback to support ongoing quality assurance and improvement.

  • Ensure health and safety is maintained during all sessions (undertaking risk assessments and PARQ as appropriate for exercise sessions)
