Full Job Description

Main Purpose of the job: To work efficiently, conscientiously, and safely. To maintain a high standard of care provision / delivery whilst supporting service users in their own homes and out in the community.

Main tasks of the job:

1. Contribute to the efficient operation of the domiciliary service, promoting high quality standards through your own practice.

2. Work in accordance with our policies and procedures at all times and Conform to Health & Safety policy & Risk Assessments and report any concerns.

3. Work within the guidelines set out in the 'Code of Practice for Social Care Workers'. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

4. Develop and sustain a positive working relationship with colleagues and work well as a team as well as being able to work alone whilst maintaining regular contact with the Manager/Team leaders.

5. Work under the direct supervision of the Manager/ Team Leaders

6. Enhance and promote the service user's quality of life and independence. Be caring, sympathetic and tactful when dealing with service users and their relatives / friends.

7. Deliver personal care and support in line with each service users individual Care & Support Plan and treat the service users individually with respect and preserve privacy and dignity.

8. Administer medication in accordance with medication policy & service users MAR chart

9. Promote physical, mental and social activities and support service users to participate in them.

10. Effectively record & report all relevant information, relaying any concerns to the Manager/ Team Leaders.

11. Contribute to the review and improvement of services and maintain quality standards in own work.

12. Prepare meals, snacks and refreshments for service users & adhere to safety and hygiene standards.

13. Take care of the service users' home, contents and appearance and undertake light domestic duties to ensure that the property is clean and hygienic. Assist service users with their laundry to ensure a hygienic home environment.

14. Attend training courses, team meetings and periodic supervision sessions with Manager/ Team Leaders as required.

Licences, registrations and qualifications:

  • Full UK Driving license & access to a vehicle required.

  • Social Care Wales registration (after 6 months of employment)
