Full Job Description

The post holder of AUB Academy Senior Operations Officer (12-month maternity cover) will work closely with the AUB Academy Manager to manage the operational demands for the short course provision to ensure a smooth delivery of all programmes. The post holder will be required to work flexibly to this demand, balancing their time between operational and administrative duties, managing logistics, resources and developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will also take the lead on safeguarding for students aged under 18-years enrolled on Saturday Art School, Creative Arts Summer School, Summer (Residential) Courses, and Bespoke (Residential) Courses.

The post holder will deliver excellent levels of customer service in the provision of the short course portfolio and make a significant contribution to the future direction of AUB Academy's course provision. They will take a lead in managing operational support for the AUB Academy Manager developing and delivering bespoke courses. They will also work closely with the Access and Participation Manager delivering courses to meet our obligations to widening access and our Foundation Course Leader to ensure good opportunities for progression.

The post holder will be highly organised and lead on operational delivery of a wide portfolio.

They will have excellent project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, experience of using databases, experience of planning and the ability to deliver administrative and operational needs while ensuring our portfolio of courses are current and accessible.

The successful applicant will need to be a confident self-starter. They will be able to evidence their experience of coordinating or delivering a range of appropriate on skills. They will have a good understanding of the role short courses play in widening access in Higher Education, an understanding of the recruitment challenges facing short courses, and an understanding of how to overcome them. They will be able to evidence a strong commitment to delivering excellent experiences and a passion for creative arts education.

This position will include frequent early/late and out of hours working, including occasional Saturdays. A flexible schedule will be arranged in consultation with the AUB Academy Manager.

This position involves working with children (under 18's) / vulnerable people and therefore requires compliance with the University's Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training
