Full Job Description

Our apprenticeship programme combines college-based training, with workbased learning, under the mentorship of our highly skilled production team. From September 2024, the first 4 weeks of your apprenticeship will cover intensive training at The Grimsby Institute, Nuns Corner, DN34 5BQ. You will then work 3 days per week from Polypipe, Holmes Way, Horncastle, LN9 6JW, and return to The Grimsby Institute for 2 full days each week. In year 2, you will only attend college for 1 day each week, spending the majority of your time at our Horncastle site, learning and being mentored by our team of experts.

Supported by your training and our team, your tasks will include:

· Technical support to production teams - Machine setting/set-up procedures.

· Adhere to Health and Safety and Company policy and procedure.

· Carry out/advise on TPM to maximise overall machine efficiency.

· Contribute to implementing new working methods and actively take part in continuous improvement projects.

· Effectively prioritise workload.

· Ensure consistency in quality of work across all lines.

· To actively and analytically investigate process faults and quality issues.

· Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery.

· Controlling safe systems of work.

· Setting up and working on new projects.

· Attending additional specialist polymer training.

· Any other associated duties as required.

  • Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering

  • A bespoke programme of practical, technical and vocational learning

  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if applicable), Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Highly Driven, Not afraid to ask questions, GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 4/ C) Essential
