Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an experienced, flexible, friendly and reliable person to help manage the smooth running of the Secondary administration area at King's Academy Binfield, providing front facing and administrative support to visitors, the teaching staff and senior leadership team.

You will need to have a good telephone manner and be able to deal sensitively with a range of children, parents, visitors and outside agencies. We would expect the successful applicant to demonstrate accurate typing skills, have the ability to multi task whilst remaining calm under pressure and show a willingness to contribute to the wider life of King's Academy Binfield and King's Academy Oakwood.

Main duties will include:

1. To undertake administrative duties including record keeping, ordering, photocopying, filing, and dealing with incoming and outgoing mail.

2. To use school computer systems (e.g. SIMS, School Comms, Inventry, Class Charts) to input details under supervision from the Office Manager, Receptionist or Student Welfare Officer.

3. To assist with basic personnel and financial administration as required, in support of other members of the administrative team.

4. To provide assistance to the teaching staff, including photocopying and preparation of materials.

5. To cover Reception when required, answering the telephone in a professional manner, routing all calls appropriately and taking accurate messages.

6. To assist welcoming visitors to the academy, ensuring that all relevant safeguarding, security and signing-in procedures are followed.

7. To undertake any general typing duties as required.

8. To open and distribute incoming post in the absence of the Receptionist and to check and receive deliveries.

9. To provide refreshments to visitors, if required.

10. To provide welfare support to the students of the academy. This may include undertaking minor first aid duties, assisting children with personal hygiene and notifying parents when children are ill.

11. To support the Attendance Officer with signing in students who arrive late and making morning absence calls and updating Class Charts.

12. To carry out any other administrative or clerical procedure, within the responsibility level of the post, as directed by Office Manager.King's Academy Binfield and King's Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment.
